Utkal began manufacturing operations in Jamshedpur in 1968 and began supplies to Tata Motors and State Transport Units across the country. The company became synonymous with quality and design and soon Utkal’s buses, tippers and trucks, were seen across the country. Since it was one of the first signs of industrialisation in Eastern India many political and Corporate stalwarts visited the factory to witness growth in the automobile segment. What started as a small unit employing 100 workers and producing 300 units per annum has grown to a massive factory spanning 16 acres of land, employing 600 People and manufacturing more than 5000 units per annum.
Our factory is located at Jamshedpur in the state of Jharkhand. An industrial town, Jamshedpur is home to Tata Steel and Tata Motors, world renowned companies from the Tata Group. Jamshedpur, is 320 kms from the city of Kolkata and is accessible by rail and road transport. Utkal Automobiles is spread over a large area of 16 acres and has 180000 sq ft of covered area making it one of the largest body building plants in India. Total direct and indirect employment for the year ended 2017 stood at 600 workers. The factory is self sustained and has modern infrastructure and machines to support its body building activities.
